The VC’s List recognises the highest academic achievers amongst Curtin’s undergraduate students. It is awarded to the top one per cent of students from across the whole University and is based on semester academic results. Students who have been included on the Vice-Chancellor’s List receive a certificate and first-time inductees will also receive a lapel pin to symbolise their membership of this elite group of students.
Prof Lina Pelliccione, PVC and President of Curtin Mauritius, in her speech, “On the global stage, we see increasing signs of the impact of fear and uncertainty about what the future might hold. The world is looking for inspiration to move us from a period of darkness to one of light. As future leaders here in Mauritius and around the globe, I know that you will provide that kind of inspiration, both now and after you graduate. We are here to honour and acknowledge your dedication, commitment, and hard work”. She also inspired the students with words of the late, great Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple and the former Chairman of PIXAR – “Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
