O-Week 2026 marked the exciting beginning of a new chapter for our students. Under the inspiring theme Dream Big, the day was designed to energise, connect and empower every new member of our community.
The programme officially opened with inspiring addresses from our Executive Director, Dr Jeremy Charoux, and our Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Lina Pelliccione.
Dr Jeremy Charoux shared the values, mission and vision of Charles Telfair Education, reminding students that they are joining an institution built on excellence, integrity and opportunity. Dr Charoux encouraged them to embrace their potential, take ownership of their journey and aim high in everything they do.
Professor Lina Pelliccione spoke about the vision of Curtin Mauritius and its commitment to providing a globally connected, future-focused education. She highlighted the opportunities available to students, the importance of innovation and resilience, and the university’s dedication to supporting them every step of the way.
Beyond the inspiring words, the day was filled with energy and interaction. Students met their lecturers and peers during engaging workshops, where they were introduced to the different software and tools they will be using throughout their studies. These sessions gave them practical insight into their academic journey while helping them feel confident and prepared for the months ahead.
And of course, it would not be O-Week without some fun. The Boomwhackers session brought colour, rhythm and laughter to the room. Students formed teams, created music together and even turned the activity into lively dance competitions. The experience was a perfect reflection of the Dream Big spirit — collaborative, creative and full of enthusiasm.
O-Week was more than just an orientation. It was a celebration of new beginnings, bold ambitions and the start of lifelong connections.
To all our new students: welcome. This is your moment. Dream big, work hard and make the most of every opportunity that lies ahead.
