Launch of the Indian Ocean Rim Association

Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Secretary-General H.E. Mr Salman Al Farisi formally launched the IORA Indian Ocean University Network (UNIOR) at Curtin University’s campus in Mauritius on Friday 15 November 2024. The vision for the network is to be a dynamic regional academic platform delivering higher education and research collaboration to address sustainable development and transformation priorities, build leadership and institutional capacity, and promote regional cooperation across the Indian Ocean. The network has three key objectives: Regional university collaboration for sustainable transformation; Growing regional leaders and education institutions; Supporting IORA’s region-building. Membership of the Network is open to universities based in IORA Member States and Dialogue Partners. Curtin University is well established as a global university, and we are excited to extend our reach through joining the IORA Indian Ocean University Network.
