The Design and Communications Showcase 2025 brought together students, academic staff and industry practitioners for an event that highlighted the creativity, technical ability and professional readiness of our Graphic Design, Communications and Interior Design cohorts. The showcase served as an important platform through which students engaged with real-world expectations, presented their work to external experts and gained insights that contribute meaningfully to their academic and professional development.

Throughout the event, students from Graphic Design and Communications participated in structured portfolio discussions with industry professionals who provided informed feedback on both the conceptual and technical aspects of their work. These interactions enabled students to refine their portfolios, deepen their understanding of current industry standards and in several cases, led to internship opportunities and job offers.

The Interior Design cohort also presented a series of well-developed projects that demonstrated strong design thinking, spatial understanding and creative problem-solving. Among the cohort, Douvraj Beetun, a Year 2 student in the Diploma of Interior Design, was recognised as Best Presenter for the clarity, confidence and professionalism of his presentation. The Best Portfolio Prize was awarded to Suddoo Muhammad Zaheer, whose work was commended for its quality, coherence and attention to detail. The presence of industry guests provided students with valuable exposure and offered a direct view of the high standard achieved by this year’s cohort.

Curtin Mauritius extends its sincere appreciation to all participating industry partners for their continued support and for contributing their expertise to the learning experience of our students. Their engagement plays a significant role in strengthening the relationship between academic study and professional practice and in preparing our students for future careers in the creative industries.
