Curtin Mauritius Alumni Awards

Curtin Mauritius Alumni Awards celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of graduates who continue to make a positive difference in their careers, communities, and beyond. These awards recognise individuals who embody leadership, innovation, integrity, and global citizenship—key values that define the Curtin University ethos.
Through this initiative, we pay tribute to alumni who have achieved excellence in their respective fields, driven meaningful change, and inspired both current and future students. Curtin Mauritius Alumni Awards not only highlight individual success but also reflects the strength and influence of the wider Curtin alumni community.
Join us in recognising and showcasing these inspiring individuals who continue to enhance Curtin University’s reputation both locally and internationally. The awards are open to all Curtin graduates based in Mauritius.
Recipients of the Curtin Mauritius Alumni Awards will also be considered for the prestigious Curtin Alumni Awards, providing an opportunity for recognition on a global platform.
Award Categories
Nominations & selection process
Eligibility for nominations

- Each award category is open to all Curtin graduates based in Mauritius

- Alumni may nominate themselves.

- Nominees should fill the nomination form

- Nominees do not have to be working in the same discipline from which they graduated.

- Alumni who are current staff (full time/part time or sessional) of Curtin University are not eligible for these awards.
Nomination process
A nomination is complete only when all the following items are submitted:

- A completed nomination form

- A written statement addressing selection criteria for the award category.

- Updated current curriculum vitae and a recent photo of the nominee.

- Additional supporting evidence such as awards, media clippings, electronic media footage, etc. are optional but strongly recommended.

- One non-related referee (full name, email, contact number, job title, employer and relationship to nominee).

- A referee report to support your nomination form.
Any incomplete nominations will not be considered for the awards.
Judging Panel
Once all nominations have been received and recorded in our database, a selection panel of internal stakeholders convenes to shortlist applicants for each category.
Shortlisted nominees are then considered for the final selection by the judging panel, which consists of a cross section of representatives from the University community and/or stakeholders.
Terms & conditions of entry
- In these terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”), “we”, “our”, “us” or “University” means Curtin Mauritius.
- Nominations are open to all Curtin graduates based in Mauritius.
- Alumni cannot win more than one individual award in any calendar year.
- Alumni cannot win the same award category more than once.
- The University reserves the right to withhold any award or decide not to grant an award in any category at its discretion.
- Nominations must include the names and contact details of one referee who may be contacted to verify the details of the nomination.
- The University’s decision is final on all matters related to the nomination process, winner selection, and award distribution. No correspondence will be entertained.
- Personal information submitted by nominees in connection with the awards will be disclosed to members of the award judging panel for the purpose of evaluating nominations.
- Nominees are required to keep the content of their nominations confidential.
- The winning nominee’s name, image, and statement may be published and/or used in any form of university media in any context pertaining to the awards, and the nominee consents to such use and disclosure.
- Award recipients will be announced via email, social media, and the University website after the event.
- Winners consent to having their stories and photos published in awards-related promotions, media releases, and on the Curtin Mauritius website.
- Nominees’ personal and contact information will not be disclosed publicly but will be updated in the internal Curtin University alumni database for future alumni communication.
- Alumni awards are not transferrable
