Curtin Mauritius recently welcomed 16 nursing students and two academic staff members from Curtin Perth as part of the Outward Mobility Program, a global initiative supported by Curtin University’s Global Portfolio.

This enriching exchange offered participants the opportunity to experience the dynamic teaching methods at Curtin Mauritius, engage in meaningful discussions around global healthcare systems, and immerse themselves in both academic and cultural exploration.

During their stay, the visiting cohort interacted with their local counterparts, exchanging valuable insights into the differences and similarities between healthcare practices in Australia and Mauritius. The program also included site visits to various health facilities across the island, where students had the chance to meet and learn from a wide range of healthcare professionals.

Beyond the classroom, the group participated in campus activities and experienced the vibrant multicultural life Mauritius has to offer — adding a personal and cultural dimension to their academic journey.

This initiative reflects Curtin’s ongoing commitment to fostering global awareness and collaboration within its academic programs, particularly in the field of health sciences.A special thank you goes to Dr Odylle Charoux and her dedicated team, whose exceptional efforts made this experience both educational and memorable for our visiting students.
