An information systems specialist analyses and maps out an organisation’s business processes to work out how best to optimize its operations. They design, deliver, test and implement IT systems and provide desktop or network support to staff.
This major focuses on how information technology is used to collect, process and output information in organisations. It provides an in-depth knowledge of computer programming and design, as well as systems implementation and management.
You will gain an introduction to programming and design, systems implementation, and IT management.
Please note:
During your first semester of the Bachelor of Commerce you’ll complete common core units which will provide an introduction to the various aspects of business. You do not need to make a final decision on a single or combined major until your second semester.
